Cute

After Spencie's endowment we went to Aunt Mary's casa.

It was wild. As you can tell!

I've got issues.

My roots are grown out. As in, my hair has not been highlighted since last summer. LAST SUMMER. Ah. I know you all screamed with me, right then.

I like to imagine that I'm looking something like this right now:
No, I don't do the sexy ombre look, mine is more like this:

Sorry, Drew, you're scaring the small children.

I'm lazy & not rotating the picture, but you can see my awesome dishrag roots here. Yum.
Ya dig?

Last night  we played games.
I completely owned Wes.

I was proud & made this face:

Only not at all, it was a lot more intense & extra cheesed. & probably had a few double chins attached.

Wes replies with: "OH, let's play 'see who can make the ugliest face!'"

I'm inspiring.

It's Fire Time!

Wes is amazing. He just is.
He is a seriously hard worker who loves hard labor jobs.
He is as strong as an ox. & bench presses me. It's cool.
He has a smile that lights up a whole room, not just me.
He's working so hard in school and doing a great job, & it is not his strong point, but he's excelling!
He's the greatest support.
We work together well.
I whine at him. & he is still nice.

Anyways, he's awesome.

Last week we went to Vegas. It was my first time.  I was so nervous & please don't judge but I have never had any desire to go there. The whole name "Sin City" is strangely unappealing to me...

However, my parents were coming to town for Spencie to go through the temple on Saturday & my dad had a business trip to Vegas that week.  My mom had a voucher with Frontier & decided to join Pops for an early vacation in Vegas then travel up to Provo Friday night.  Weston was so excited for them & it was his spring break. & I haven't used any vacation days since I became full time here in August of last year.  My vacation time doesn't accrue very rapidly, so these days are gold to me.

I save them up for one purpose: to spend time with my immediate family from TN, because I never get to see them & let's be honest, I haven't visited TN since Christmas 2010. I have not been home in over a year. It breaks my heart!

Anyways, so in honor of the sweet hubs DYING to have a cool spring break & not work the whole time & just go back to school we decided to present my parents with an awesome plan of us joining them in Vegas!  They thought it was great! I ended up being sick last week. I was bummed, but it ended up perfect, because I had to take a sick day & we were able to go to Vegas early! I didn't take any pictures while we were there..but my mom did, so I'll try to steal them & post them on here! Also, that city was really cool! It is a lot cleaner than New York was, & a lot less crowded!  However, I was not a fan of the awful pictures strewed across the street. I was disgusted. But we got to tour everything & my cousin Jeff came to see us twice while we were down there. He is stationed at the Air Force base there in town & then on our way back to Utah we went to Henderson to visit my aunt, uncle & cousins over there!  It was so good to see everyone!

We stayed at the MGM Grand & wow that place was loco. The whole base floor had shops & a giant casino & restaurants & all sorts of things, I have never been in such a huge hotel! btw, we stayed on the 28th floor...!

We hit some GREAT outlet shops & the hubs is now looking quite handsome in his new clothes!

Saturday was Spencie's endowment session. It was so special & afterwards we had an awesome family gathering at Aunt Mary's where 8 of my dad's 15 siblings all came & their significant others, kids, etc. It was so fun. & so crazy just like family gatherings always are.  Oh my amazing & outrageous family.  & so many belly laughs. Good golly!

We went to see War Horse that night at Movies 8. It was so good! Sunday we went to Spencie's ward & I discovered corn starch is a fantastic replacement for baby powder or dry shampoo for those days you just don't have time to wash the hair!  That night we had our birthday celebration! Dani's birthday was the 10, Spencie's came up on the 21 & Wes' is on the 31.  It was so fun! We had ice cream & Killer Brownies.

Nom.  Monday I worked & then Momma & I went to an adorable quilt shop in Springville. I fell in love. I will be buying all quilting fabric from there. & then some!

I'm sorry for the neglect folks, it makes for big long wordy updates.

I will sum this one up quickly,
WE ARE SO BLESSED!

The BYU Accountant program students did our taxes. For free. Amazing.

Also, there were issues with the Forest Service Program & it sent Weston's application to Louisiana & Mississippi, but not to Spanish Fork.

We've been waiting & waiting to hear if he got the job or atleast an interview.  Joe had to wait on a lot of stuff from the higher-ups.  So it was just a waiting game. While in Vegas, Joe called Wes & informed him that his application wasn't in the applicant pull for a GS-4 which is what Weston is on the Federal Pay scale.  So, Joe wrote the Forest Service people & told them about the situation. Wes also called head-quarters in Albuquerque and they opened a case about the application going to the wrong place. We then found out he could be hired more likely as a GS-3.  I was so sad, because Weston wanted this job SO bad. He loves his squad & the intensity they bring.  He still wanted to do it as a GS-3. So then began the praying & waiting process to hear about the  news from the Forest Service's decision.

Joe called Wes yesterday & informed him that he got the spot as a GS-4.
WE ARE SO BLESSED.

Wes texted it to me because he was in his EMT class when Joe called, but I called him right away & that boy was so giddy telling me about getting the job & Joe's phone call.

Anyway we are constantly being blessed left & right!

It's extremely busy around our parts! I've started decorating our house & hanging things (finally)! & Weston's been studying long during the day & working late into the night at the house in Salem that he's working on remodeling for a guy. It's pretty awesome & is looking really good! Weston is so good at that stuff! He comes  home with the white hair & eyebrows & eyelashes & spackle smeared across his cheek. It's cute.
We are loving having a washer & dryer. It's a welcomed new feature of our casa!

Also, Weston is working on his Paramedic program application that is due next week. He's been collecting the letters of recommendation & filling out his application.  It's a lot of work, but he's handling it well!

Blessings as of late:
Wes got his job back on squad 8-1 this season.
He will be able to get 15 credits of school work done w/ his fire job this summer.
10 for his internship & 5 with 2 other courses online that he'll be doing on top of that.
We use our washer & dryer all the time.
We almost have his Paramedic Program application all done.  Please send prayers our way, we're reeeally trying to get into the fall program.
My medical insurance rocks & my surgery in May should be (hopefully) not too expensive.
My job has amazing benefits as much as I tease that I get bored because of all the down time I get here.
Our landlords are extremely nice.
I wake up to the sound of geese.
I have a husband that treats me like the best thing in his life.
The sun has been shining lately.
Weston is doing SO well in school (including math!)
Wes has found a job that just might be THE dream one. Second to SEALs, of course. It's being a medic for the Nashville SWAT team being contracted out through the Nashville Fire Dept.

Sorry about lagging in the blogging department & the picture department! I have some pictures from the past weekend that I can put up! & next weekend is Weston's birthday so I'll take pictures of that, too! :D

SB'12

How is your spring break going?
Oh, you don't have one? & you haven't had one since high school? Yeah, me neither!

My poor slave husband is getting to do this all week:
(props to hubs for taking precautions w/ the mask...the nagging of "protecting his lungs" from his wife must have bugged him enough baha)
Except for that's a lie, because we're going on a get-away-last-minute 1.5 day trip to Vegas later this week, too.
But that is what the boy's spring break looks like!
He's remodeling a house in Salem. Sweet job & Weston loves it, but still...full time work instead of the beach or a theme park or something?
I thought I'd make this in honor of him:
How are you celebrating Spring Break 2012?

3.09.2012

So I'm falling a little behind on life updates for all of you that I know are DYING to know every detail. baha
We have the greatest friends & family that came to help us move!
It started at 7:30a.m. Weston's parents showed up w/ a gazillion breakfast burritos in hand that friends & fam that came to help chowed down on. Wow they are so kind!
Spencer, Taylor, Melissa, Jarica, David, Kevin, & the other David, Bonnie & Mike all came.
WOW. Our friends are work horses! Neeeigh.
We had so much fun, too. We packed & loaded, packed & loaded. & then packed & loaded some more!

Then I went w/ the boys & Bonnie & we unloaded that giant load filling:
Trailor.
Truck.
Truck.
Car.
Yukon.
WOWza. Das a lot of loot.
& the other ladies stayed behind & cleaned the old casa for us to pass our cleaning inspection, we got back to Branbury at about 12:30 & I helped finish cleaning that place SPOTLESS. WOW they had done SO much by the time I got there. & there was still a lot to do when I got there. Embarrassingly nasty. Yes.
& then we were done. Glorious. 1pm we were finished. We locked & loaded the last bit of stuff into the car & went to Pizza Pie Cafe to celebrate. Oh, it was wonderful!
Then Melissa, Joan & I hit Hobby Lobby like it's goin out of style & got 2.5 hours of wedding glory COMPLETE. Hallelujah.
Then we joined the boys at home (Weston had been in Salem since Pizza Pie Cafe unpacking & unpacking!) & played some cards & then did a late night Walmart trip for wedding announcement envelopes. When we got back home we had an envelope stuffing party.
Sunday was amazing. We LOVE our new ward. Unlike our Springville ward, it is friendly, & unlike our Provo ward, it has a ward member over 35.
We left our church building to the most grand view you've ever seen.

Heaven.

Then Joan, Dave, Wes & I had a yummy lunch after church, my amazing black bean soup. Nom.

Janet came & chatted with us for a while too. It was loverly.

Wes & I went out later that afternoon & threw snow balls into the pond & tried our best goose honks to get the geese to come see us. Nope, nada, didn't happen.

But it was so peaceful.

Get this, we have gone to bed every night at 10 p.m. & up wide awake at 6 p.m.
Guess why! It's SILENT there. Seriously, silent.
We go to bed to an occasional goose honk & wake up to the geese & birds.
Strange, I have forgotten the sounds of nature since I moved from TN in 2007.  At 2 a.m. we are used to the sound of tires on blacktop.  Honking hormone driven 18 yr old girls & boys. Honking 24 yr old hormone driven boys. Yelling. Chatting. Music. Bass thumping....you get the idea. We are no longer living in a complex of single folk. It's amazing.

So, our Provo apartment was SO nice.
& about 4 million steps up from our Springville apartment....
Our new apartment is another step up. Seriously. It's awesome.
Here's why:
1.  Washer & Dryer
2.  2 bedrooms. Amazing.
3. A/C
4. A POND
5. A PADDLE BOAT for that POND
6.  Amazing landlords
7. a HUGE bedroom
8. A HUGE bathroom
9. Counter Space
10. Peace & Quiet
11. No newlyweds living upstairs...
12. PRIVACY from people staring down into our windows
13. this one...drum  roll please...we have our own closets. AMAZING.
I stole the big one. It's amazing. & you better believe I filled every inch of that sucker. & Wes got the small one. Half of it has clothes & there are 5 pairs of shoes: running shoes, hiking boots, church shoes, fire boots & snowboard boots. The other half of his closet has his collection of random things & then his workout gear. hahaha I love him so much!

I was really afraid I would hate the commute, I really was, but it isnot even bad. The Lord has been blessing me to be able to go to sleep at night and wake up on time that I can be out the door at 7:30, and I enjoy that wakeup time on the drive to work and the unwind drive on our way home at the end of the day. It gives us uninterrupted time together! Our gas bill has of course increased, but it is worth every penny. We couldn't be more thrilled.

It's amazing, really. We love it.

We are so blessed. Do you want to know why? We have survived the past week with $17 in our checking account. Weston's amazing parents have come to visit & fed us. & helped us move. Uh, is that backwards or what? They come, they work, they feed...us. So awesome.
I get to see my parents next week. & to say I'm excited does not even come close to cutting it! Ah, I love Momma & Pops so much!  Plus, I need help from the tax man...eh, eh, Pops? :)
Anyway, I love you all & I hope you have a noteworthy weekend!
Isn't he the cutest? & doesn't he look exhausted? This was mid unpacking mode. See all the boxes & piles? Yeah, those are gone. We got our whole house unpacked in 4 evenings. AWESOME!

Uh, I'm kind of embarrassed. This is completely me. My dad was in town for about 12 hours a couple weeks ago & he picked Weston & I up at our apartment & I told him i felt bad that he didn't get to put on comfies. & he said "Ah, no, I don't usually wear pajamas to Walmart." bahahah Is that just a Provo thing? I hope not, because I plan on doing that to the Payson Walmart, too.

Thank you, thank you CUC.

We will be taking our services to CUC forever.
We had a big mess with insurance & with 2 MRIs Weston needed last August.
Lots of moolahs.
They have a great low income program.
It saved us. Really.
Thank you Central Utah Clinic.
We are so grateful!

Want to know why my parents are awesome?

So I get a text from Momma this morning that looks like this:
Bella says "hi!"

Bahah first of all the picture is funny enough.
That dog is hilarious. Seriously. She's so funny! & Chase's hands are ginormous.

& Iphones have this weird quirk where if you send a picture text or mass text & another iphone replies it sends the reply to all of the original recipients of the original message from the original sender. Make sense?

That being said, Momma & Pops both have iphones.
& neither of them realize it is sending their reply text to all of the children recipients as well. Gross.
Pops replies with: "Tell Bella "rff rrrrffff rfff"
Momma: "Does that translate to 'she's hot?' Cause she is!"
Pops: "Actually it means 'Why are u looking at my hot wife like that!'"

hahahahha I have been enjoying this conversation all morning.
xoxotextmeeeeeeessage!
